The Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ZAMCELCO) gathered thousands of Member-Consumer-Owners to attend its 44th Annual General Membership Assembly, which was held on June 18, 2023 at the Mayor Vitaliano Agan Coliseum.

The cooperative achieved another record-breaking total of 7,771 registered member-consumer-owners out of 144,860 total member-consumers, exceeding the 5% target number of participants.

The ZAMCELCO Board Of Directors and the Management led by the Chief Management Officer, Atty. Rommel S. Agan, and the General Manager, Engr. Gannymede Tiu, would like to express their sincerest thanks to all of its stockholders, partners, and sponsors for making this yearly event a success.

Board President Dir. Jeffrey Russ Taripe welcomed its members to the event noting that the MCOs’ consistent support and engagement had propelled the cooperative’s achievements, from successfully implemented electrification projects to system advancements. Furthermore, Taripe encouraged member-consumers to actively participate in the conversations, express their thoughts, and voice their concerns; this was accomplished in collaboration with the Corporate Secretary Dir. Daisy Tangon, who was able to secure motions and approval for the order of business and the agenda presented.

The assemblyโ€™s esteemed guest speaker, Commissioner of the Energy Regulatory Commission, Atty. Alexis Lumbatan, thru an AVP, emphasized that MCOs should take time to reflect and appreciate ZAMCELCOโ€™s efforts in providing an efficient service for the welfare of its member-consumer-owners. Atty. Lumbatan highlighted some of the cooperative’s notable accomplishments, such as the progressive reduction of systems loss, facility upgrading and rehabilitation, and the improvement of customer care and services.

In a message given by GM Engr. Tiu, he stated that ZAMCELCO is still working hard to fulfill the dream of delivering quality power service to every Zamboangueรฑo, and that The New ZAMCELCO will not stop until we have totally energized the farthest Sitios and brought light to every home.

Together with the AGMA, the Chief Management Officer spearheaded the launch of Get SET 25 Zamboanga, a commitment of the cooperative to its member-consumer-owners to attain Stable Energy by the year 2025. CMO Atty. Agan placed the employees, particularly the technical personnel and the operations, to the test.

Also present during the AGMA were observers from National Electrifcation Administration, Crown Investment Holdings, some City Officials, ZAMCELCO Employees, MCOPE Officers amd members.

Furthermore, surprise appearances by SALBAKUTA, Calista, Eclipse, and a local New Soul band entertained and hyped up the audience prior to the raffle bonanza.

Present and lucky member-consumer-owners received incentives, event collaterals, consolation awards, and minor and major rewards. The Grand Prize, a Piaggio three-wheeled vehicle, was won by an MCO from District 7.
